So what I wanna say is, everybody out there that's watching, everybody that's watching this world, this world is bullshit and you shouldn't model your life - wait a second! - you shouldn't model your life about what you think that we think is cool and what we're wearing and what we're saying and everything. Go with yourself... And it's just stupid that I'm in this world, but you're all very cool to me..."

Existem álbuns com períodos de gestação complicada, mas como este há muito tempo não havia memória. Depois de três ano, dois produtores e uma inteira regravação trouxeram o álbum às lojas. Depois de uma petição on-line organizada pelos fãs, um protesto às portas da Sony-BMG em Nova Yorque, entre outras iniciativas, finalmente o álbum é lançado. Grande parte dos entraves vieram por parte da editora ao constantemente afirmar que o álbum quando produzido por Jon Brion (Rufus Wainwright), não era suficientemente comercial e sendo assim rejeitado. O novo produtor depois foi Mike Elizondo (já trabalhou com Eminem e 50 Cent), que regravou quase todas as faixas, deixando apenas as faixas a abrir e a fechar o álbum.
Lembremos que a criatividade e irreverência de Fiona é constante, por exemplo, o título do segundo álbum já de 1999, sendo considerado o título mais longo da história: "When the Pawn Hits the Conflicts He Thinks Like a King What He Knows Throws the Blows When He Goes to the Fight and He'll Win the Whole Thing 'Fore He Enters the Ring There's Nobody to Batter When Your Mind Is Your Might So When You Go Solo, You Hold Your Own Hand and Remember That Depth Is the Greatest of Heights and If You Know Where to Stand, Then You Know Where to Land and If You Fall It Won't Matter, Cuz You'll Know That You're Right". Neste álbum, continua a ser imensa a sua criatividade, mas permanecem os espíritos que a inquietam desde a adolescência e que dificilmente alguma vez vão deixar a sua mente. Com influências do hip-hop e pre-rock'n'roll pop tal como é habitual em Joni Mitchell ou Tori Amos, são canções como "O'Sailor", "Get Him Back" ou "Window".
